In celebration of the 2024 Lunar New Year, Ah Lung’s Journey mixes the elements and settings of present-day Hong Kong with fantastical elements. This 2D animation features a red dragon named Ah Lung (阿龍), who acts as a train. Departing from his station, he playfully ventures all across Hong Kong before ending his long day, drowsily dropping off his final passengers.

Yani Kaye Linsangan Castaneda believes life and art are intimately intertwined, showcasing this through written and visual storytelling as the scriptwriter and VFX artist for this year’s Searchlight production. Her personal works often blend fantasy and themes of identity, reflected years of Searchlight narrative. She leisurely pursues similar creative projects professionally and independently.

Valencia Febby, a product designer at an educational technology company, has always been captivated by illustrations, storytelling, and the purpose of design. Her passion for interactive design has led her to explore boundless creative opportunities, such as joining InnerGlow 2024, designing a game that reflects her personal stories and experiences for her university final year project, volunteering creatively, and many more.

With art being a vital part of her life, Yau expresses her dedication to it working as a freelance 2D artist. Specialising in frame-by-frame animation for narrative-driven and/or Japanese-style productions, she has worked with local artists, indie studios and animation content creators, where she has showcased her skills in character design and animation, storyboarding, background art and more.

As a freelance composer and sound artist, Dotdot Alfs Bryan Pabellan has always been interested in composing captivating audio tracks for various forms of visual media. From personal and university projects to programmes such as Searchlight in 2024 and 2026, he showcases his enthusiasm for creating emotional soundtracks and vibrant soundscapes by composing and mixing for various projects regardless of genre.
